Nurturing Artists- Enriching Communities

In August, we celebrated the launch of the second generation of the Refuge with the first annual Strudel and Strings. It was an incredible music, food and art-infused affair. More than twenty homemade blueberry strudels were baked in seven ovens throughout Basin. The strings of jazz, bluegrass and gospel hummed. The superheroes of the Refuge’s founding generation were each honored with original paintings of Basin, rendered by local children. The art and experience auction raised over $9,000 for scholarships and the overall event netted over $12,000 for our vital programming.
