FACILITIES

There are four studio and living spaces located in two historic buildings in this former gold mining town situated in the midst of the Rocky Mountains.

The Hewitt building once housed a bank and later the Masonic Hall.  Next door is the Dyott building, a former dry goods store.  Rents include heat and private phone.  The Refuge has a large and small, back and side yard for outdoor work or gatherings.  Next door is a small public park created through a joint project of the Refuge and the Basin community.  The Community Hall, which adjoins the park, is the site of Refuge fundraising events and is often available for use by artists for workshops or performances.
